We leave our hotel and take the vans on a single track road to Elgol.
Along the road there are occasional wider spots to pull onto and wait for oncoming traffic to go by.
We arrive at Elgol and park up the hill from the bay.
Walking down, we pass the Bella Jane Boat Trip office.
We board the boat and travel across Loch Scavaig to Loch Coruisk, about a 50-minute trip.
Our boat takes us by seals sleeping on a rock.
Then we dock and start hiking.
The walk today is very short, only about three miles but over rough, rocky terrain.
We have lunch sitting on a promontory and admire Loch Coruisk and the Cuillins.
Ross stops for a photo.
Getting ready to board our boat.
On the way back we again see Blaven, one of the Black Cuillins. Blaven figured prominently in a Mary Stewart novel, Wildfire at Midnight, that Sheila read as a teenager.
After docking we drive back on the same road through open range that anyone can use with a grazing permit. So we have sheep and cows on the road in front of us from time to time.
This is the view across the road from the hotel.
We have another nice group dinner that includes banoffee pie.
I checked out the recipe for that once. It said to boil cans of condensed milk in water for several hours being careful not to let the pan go dry. Otherwise the cans explode. Hmmm?
